This seminar is not for victorious Christians, but Christians defeated in the trenches, asking… How do I focus when I’m distracted with so much to do? How do I pray longer than five minutes? How do I ask when I’ve tried it before and it doesn’t work?

Delving into our frustrations, we look at Jesus’ powerful yet simple teachings on prayer. We practice becoming child-like, patterning after Jesus’ own teaching and style of praying. We learn to ask our Father anything – with eyes wide open to the story he is creating in our lives. Further practical tools and helps are explained and demonstrated. Throughout the sessions people have time to pray, making real what they learned. 

Cohorts

Many of us pray badly, yet we long to connect with our Father. If you struggle with keeping a consistent prayer life, we invite you to learn to pray through this 10-week cohort.

What happens in a cohort? We learn to pray, and we pray. We learn through a book study, open discussions, and applying new ideas in our personal lives. Then we pray through five key areas in each of our lives and begin to watch, together, what God does. Seeing God at work in the lives of others encourages you to keep asking—even when you don’t yet see movement in your own prayer story.

How do I join a cohort? Cohorts are always developing, and we have specialized cohorts for men, women, and pastors. There is a $149 fee for cohort participation.

This seminar, from the people who brought you the A Praying Life seminar, will give you a vision for and practical experience in praying as a community.

Together, we’ll survey praying communities through the ages and into today and discover what—or who—makes them work. We’ll use tools like the prayer menu and the prayer pyramid to explore the how to's of praying together, building our practical skills as we build our understanding. The goal of A Praying Church seminar is nothing less than to awaken the sleeping giant, the church, in our midst!

Cohorts

New in 2023! Along with the launch of the A Praying Church book and seminar, seeJesus is offering cohorts to help pastors and other leaders shepherd their own communities into prayer. 

In a cohort, participants learn to pray together through a book study, open discussions, and applying new ideas in our personal lives. Seeing God at work in the lives of others encourages you to keep asking—even when you don’t yet see movement in your own prayer story.
